An hourly gin drinker would just as appropriately be called an alcoholic
I guess so, my uncle had a little nip of gin every so often through the day. He never got drunk, I never saw him have an alcoholic drink for enjoyment, just his maintainance.
OTH, knowing what we know now he probably would have been diagnosed with PTSD and this is how he handled it.
