"On the Democratic side, the Chicago Tribune reports, state treasurer Alexi Giannoulias looks close to clinching the nomination, setting up a fight with Kirk for the Senate seat vacated by President Obama."So it's 2 unprincipled scumbags squaring off. Illinois business as usual.
We can't expect that running off the Devil will be easy.
It never has been and never will be.
If elected we just have to work to make sure his colleagues are so drastically different from him that even he recognizes how foolish he is calling himself Republican and acting Democrat.
We don't need any more Arlen Spectors.

Giannoulias is a basketball and locker room buddy of Barack Obama with no experience and another con artist.

Don't know much about politics, but an observation from the peanut gallery. Where was the national tea party 6 months ago in Ill? We can't wait until the last week before an election before sending a donation and hope to elect a conservative in a blue state. We have to organize, organize, organize at the local/state level to change the dirty politics from the bottom up. Money is not going to get the job done. If we can't get out there and root out the corruption all the time, and campaign like crazy for the good candidates, then of course nothing will change.
As for Ill. I'm guessing that the people who live there never expect their vote to count for anything. They know that Chicago has always been the home of crooks and gangsters who control all things political. The people don't believe that they can make a difference, so they just take whatever they get. Most of them probably don't ever vote. At least they don't know that they voted.
