I sure would hate to lose a red state like Utah.

So, what is the Worst Case Scenario??? How much of the US would be affected?

JD,

My guess is that Yellowstone would most likely erupt by gas and or hydraulic/steam pressure. This would not be the caldera shaping catastrophic event that is of fame, however, notable and still scenery changing.

Back when the Discovery Channel did a story about it, I believe they said everything within 500 or 600 miles of the eruption would be in danger. I think it's time to move in with my brother in Norway!

I can’t find the map right now but it would be devastating to the western US all the way east to about the center of Indiana with depths of ash from many feet down to about 5”. The further east you’d go the less ash cover you would see. The biggest ptoblem is the cloud that would block out the sun for probably a year+.
