zebra, reasonably speaking, you surely understand the importance of having a united caucus in Congress? Even one Republican Senator who will cross over to support Obama on key issues would give him cover to say that he's being bipartisan, etc, etc, and be destructive to the Republican brand.
There's a good reason why people stopped trusting Republicans to be conservative! and that led to landslides for the Democrats.
The choice is between a divided and rudderless Republican Party with unreliable 50/50 (at best) votes like Mark Kirk, or a strong, united conservative Republican Party that voters can trust with a majority.
One 'Kirk' or 'Specter' isn't the end of the world, but there's never just one.
Zebra’s just reading from the party playbook, liberal ideology and corruption doesn’t seem to bother him. I find it amazing these guys who pop up on the threads on election night who’ve not participated in the hundreds of discussions beforehand, for whom would have a clearer understanding of precisely what’s been going on here, and why this was no victory for Conservatives tonight. The pig-ignorant stupidity of some is astonishing, especially on a politically-oriented Conservative website, and frankly, some of the comments are well into the trolling territory.
