The Senate result is no surprise on the Republican side. However, it would be a huge upset if Giannoulias were to lose, a huge rebuke to the ‘Rat Machine.
wouldn’t it be better if Giannoulias won the primary?
I want the worst (easiest to beat) D to win the primary.
Exactly right, IMO. I voted for Hughes today, but Kirk wins it. I will vote for Kirk in the general. Anything to ensure that O-buddy Alexi doesn’t get in.
In IL-14, with 43% of precincts in, Randy Hultgren is leading Ethan Hastert 52%-48%.
In IL-08, with 94% in, conservative Bob Dold is leading RINO Elizabeth Coulson 39%-30%.
If Hultgren and Dold win, it will make up for Kirk beating Hughes (whose chances of winning the primary were pretty much nil, anyways).
In IL-08, it looks like Joe Walsh (presumably not the guy from The Eagles) won.
And in the IL-10 on the Dem side, Seals is leading by 500 votes with 94% in; if Seals wins, I think Dold wins in November.
