A sent this link to a liberal friend of mine, and she wrote back: “Don’t the members of Congress get their health insurance through the Federal Employees Health Plan that insures 8.5 million federal employees and dependents? It’s certainly a great health plan by the standards of non federal employees options, but it isn’t “just” for Congress. Maybe we should do away entirely with employer sponsored health insurance. I don’t think many people have a good idea what their health insurance costs their employer and what it would cost them to obtain it on their own.
