“VOA has been, for many years, yet another NPR.” (jjotto)

“A friend of mine’s father ran it 50 yrs. ago and it was all lefty/all the time.”

Been listening to VOA from Asia for 20 years. It has been a bad joke for at least that long.

20 years ago, though, VOA did have a much more balanced presentation of the arts in the USA. Now, however, foreign listeners might get the impression that every American is in love with the latest pop/rap trends in music. No more classical; country/folk music all but gone.

Issues of concern to Americans (immigration policy is just one good example) are covered in a much more comprehensive manner, believe it or not, by the leftist BBC, Bush House, London. I mean, the BBC has featured far more detailed reports of what is actually happeneing inside the USA than the VOA.

Radio Netherlands and (how do you spell) Deutchavella (German International Radio) are also much better news sources on American issues than VOA, at leat as far as comprehensiveness. But it must be remembered that all of them have the UNO/globalist/leftist slant.

Radio Australia is quite enjoyable at times for music and features. Still the same leftist slant when it comes to critical issues.

VOA -— big bad joke.
