Not to mention the "up to a year" part which would be a misdemeanor crime

Once they could justify taking constitutional rights for life from felons after they served their time, now everyone is a target.

FYI, most states have a law similar to “Illegal Use of a Telephone”, which covers ANY threat made over the phone. Here, it carries a 2 year jail sentence as a misdomenor and in NY, it is a felony.
