Back in November when we had that nor-easter and a power glitch one of my computers died and I had to replace it. the new computer has Windows 7. I love it. Except for one thing.......trying to network with the other two computers and share files. One of the other computers had Vista and the other had XP. Couldn't get the network to work. Ended up buying two more copies of Win7 to install on those computers. Then it took forever for the computers to see each other. Ended up being the McAfee firewall in the Cox Communications free security suite. Switched to Windows firewall and had no more problems.

I have two laptops and a box. The box has XP, the two laptops had Vista. I upgraded on LT to 7 and they were all on my home network. Vista and 7 set up and found the network in minutes. XP took a little longer.
When it came to finding the printer (HP C51890), which I finally plugged into the router, Vista and 7 took minutes to find the printer and connect. It took me two days to get the XP box to finally print through the router.

I am SO glad I read your post! I moved my old XP upstairs when I got my new Windows 7 and found I couldn’t get on the net! Now I know why!
