So Cernan will forever hold the title of the last American on the moon. Sad state of affairs. The Chinese will be there by the end of the 2020s. IIRC they didn't sign the treaty that says you can't claim territory in space like the US and Russia did. Back at the time of project Apollo nobody thought this was a problem. But we will soon be looking at a red moon.
