These people must either be trust fund babies, live in their parents’ basements, or married up. How else can people just afford to quit their jobs?

OK.

So who feeds Vanessa?

If these people had to provide their own food, clothes, and shelter, they might not be quite so “completely and utterly over it.”

Socialism at work, so Vanessa doesn’t have to.

People like this were in ‘the game’ for the wrong reason in the first place! Selfishness is the most hollow reason to excel in your job. Working hard to better other peoples lives either by the product you produce or by earning money to take care of your family is so much more rewarding!

These lost 30 somethings really missed the boat. I hope they can figure out how to jump back in for the right reasons.

So a bunch of idiot women discover that going to work every day is not such a great way to go through life. Duh. Did these airheaded bimbo morons think men go to work every day because it's fun?

Sorry, girls. Life's a bitch, and math is hard. Better stay home and do your nails.

From the article: “All this was supposed to make me happy,...”

“All this” can’t make you happy.

“He” can’t make you happy.

“She” can’t make you happy.

You must have it within yourself to be happy.

The most you can expect from “all this”, “he”, or “she” is that they will allow you to be happy, because what they can do is make you unhappy.

Hmmm...decide you don’t wanna go to work... Where I work, that’s called “AWOL.” Must be nice to have that option.

'Completely and utterly over it. Sure, you might have a gold card, but you've maxed it out buying things you can't afford and that you don't even need, trying to fill a void that just can't be filled. You numb your discontentment every night with gin and tonics.'

Everybody has a "God Shaped Hole" in them. Some try to fill it with drugs or alcohol. Others try sex. Some fill this "God Shaped Hole" with achievements. Some chase new age BS in order to numb the desire.

There's only one thing that will fill the "God Shaped Hole."

They should stay with their higher paying jobs to pay off their mechanics’ liens. ;-)

Yep I have. When hubby and I married in 1986 he said it was up to me whether I ever worked or not, Mostly it has been not. We don’t have a new car but do own 2 properties free and clear.

Abortion and the feminist movement have not liberated women - they have liberated MEN! Men can act like dogs in heat, and can avoid their responsibilities to family, women, and the children they have fathered.

Reading the article, I had to laugh about the woman quitting her high-stress management job for supposedly lower-stress waitress work. BWA-HA-HAA! Low stress,in your dreams.

It took her to 34 to realize that working sucks? I knew that before I ever had a job. They pay you to do it for a reason.

for years I didn’t work a job outside the house. But...I cleaned the house, took care of the children , grocery shopped, cooked every meal, did loads of laundry a day, paid the bills, managed everyones social schedule, etc...etc...never ending.

I worked my ass off! My husband worked hard outside the house and i worked hard inside it.(well, i did the yard work too)

its a wonderful partnership and just because i didn’t get paid for it doesn’t mean it wasn’t worth just as much to our lives.
