Holy smokes! JD is telling us this is his last hour on the air!
He is saying he will be heard from again in the public arena.
Gee...after all this, why am I not surprised?
Again, the purists will eat all the other purists.
I don't personally know and I haven't checked and I don't know how to check, but I have read here that it's $5 million.
Didn’t think it was anything illegal, just recalling what had happened in general, I was surprised he lost actually...2006 was a rough year for Republicans and Hayworth had a few “scandals”, if you will, at the time...think that was just enough to bump him off ... think he had a high ACU rating...he’s a bit of a bombthrower as well...should be an interesting race...if the primary is a referendum on spending, McCain’s no earmark position puts Hayworth in a difficult spot, immigration pops up Hayworth has the advantage, regardless, the Republican money spigot is going to be turned up full for McCain...Hayworth will have to rely on other sources...magritte
Any questions?
Yes, I ask it before. Are you pro-amnesty?
That's what got JD in the doghouse with Bush and Rove and the DC Republican establishment: his strong stance against amnesty and for immigration law enforcement. He often joked about that on his radio show, and he was persona non grata at the Bush/Rove White House.
And, folks, it will be VERY interesting to hear how Karl Rove comments on JD's challenge to Juan McCain.
JD incurred some massive debts during the last election (defending himself). He has until 1-31-2010 to retire those debts. Then he can declare.
John McCain is so taking advantage of this situation.
That story would make one hell of an ad.
I don’t personally know and I haven’t checked and I don’t know how to check, but I have read here that it’s $5 million.
.....”I’ve had the feeling for some time that she needs some good conservative adivsers, if she is indeed a conservative.”
Yes...she needs advisors, but who advised her latest move to McCain? I’d love to know, or if this was her own move.
March for Life on CSPAN2 now ...
Oh, then I guess he managed to retire the debts! I think the debt is the reason Sheriff Joe threw that party/fund raiser for him, right?
And I was wrong. He lost in ‘06 when Nancy ran against the “corrupt GOP House.” What did she call it? “The cesspool of corruption?” HAR! Look at her HOUSE!
Hey Now ping
VERY GOOD! Over and over - like you say.
OH GOOD, thanks, Starwise, Would you watch the FReepathon thread for a little while? I want to make some tea.
There are some wasteful earmarks, but some very beneficial ones also. But this is one of the most exaggerated and cheap applause lines in all of politics. Not even 1% of the total budget. Eliminate all of them and it will accomplish little.
It's a cheap applause line, and little more. You're helping to perpetuate a myth. Entitlements are where the money is. I think there is more fraud in Medicare and Medicaid than all the earmarks combined each year. Why isn't that constantly mentioned by the pols?
What does THAT mean?
Two questions:
Was the poll Republican voters?
Is AZ an open or closed primary state?
If AZ is a closed (Republicans only in primary) state, Juan is in trouble. He seems to realize this already given that he's running anti JD ads as we speak.
Sorry Bruce, but my post 44 on this thread mentions that.
OK?
By the way, did you know Blossom Dearie has a song about you?
Yep, very cheap in a $3 trillion+ budget. And many earmarks are very beneficial. Entitlements are where the money is. I'm commented elsewhere.
Earmarks = a cheap applause line for disingenuous politicians. And only a few use it, like Juan McCain.
