Also true that Keyes is not so politically astute.

Unfortunately now, in the Republican Party, "politically astute" means "willing to cast aside all principle" in the pursuit of political expediency.

Which may have an appearance of wisdom in the short run, while in the long run meaning total destruction for America and the principles upon which our liberty is premised.

Politically astute does not = compromise.

astute; Having or showing shrewdness and discernment, especially with respect to one’s own concerns.
