If Barack Obama was Bill Clinton, he would hope for GOP victories tomorrow in Massachusetts and nationally in November. After all, when the GOP took over both Houses of Congress in 1994, Democrat Clinton’s reelection chances for 1996 became that much better.
Recall that in 1992, American voters gave the Democrats full control of both the White House and of Congress for the first since 1978. With this as a back-drop, Clinton and the Democrats in Congress tried to push Hillary-Care down our throats at their own peril.
However, once Newt Gingrich in the House, and Bob Dole in the Senate became leaders of the Majority in Congress, a relatively unpopular Clinton learned how to triangulate and made his 1996 reelection assured. After all, it was very difficult for Democrats in 1993 and 1994 to blame the out-of-power GOP for the nation’s problems, but that became easier once they took control of Congress.
Of course, Obama isn’t Clinton. For all of his faults, Bill Clinton was a true politician that knew which way the wind blew and acted accordingly. When he saw that the country was not drifting leftward, he turned in the other direction, if only for his own survival. Obama, on the other hand, is a tried-and-true leftist in the communist variety. I believe that the man will break whatever precedent and extinguish much of his support to pass to the country an unpopular socialist legacy that will take us generations to roll back. Take healthcare. While poll after poll in 2009 indicated that the reforming of health care was a top priority of most Americans, what Obama and his Democratic followers are now pushing is nothing short of a socialized health system despised to most Americans, even in Massachusetts.
In foreign policy, Obama is pushing policies that make us the bad-guy, while giving nations such as Iran and North Korea more than enough time to built bombs that can kill us and other free-society nations. For this president, we, the America people are the problem and our enemies are simply misguided fellows that need our support, time and apologies.
No, regardless of what happens tomorrow and in the coming months, it appears that this president will sacrifice his political survival and that of his party simply to turn America into a left-wing utopia that has been tried and tried again around the world to its peril.
Luckily for us, however is that Obama cannot take away the power of the ballot box (at least not yet) and as his poll numbers continue to crater more members of his own party will decide to move away from their leader for their own political survival, thereby begin shooting down more and more of the president’s policies.
At least we can hope.

History is still history and Bill Clinton was still elected twice with less than 50% of the vote. Any article about Bill Clinton’s good fortune that does not mention Ross Perot is meaningless and silly or just plain dishonest. Bill Clinton DID NOT win reelection in 1996 because of 1994.
Bill Clinton won reelection in 1996 the same way he won the election in 1992: Collusion with Ross Perot.
Bill Clinton is VERY lucky that the cold war ended before he took office.
1996 would not have been as kind to him had a Soviet threat still been present and after Clinton gutted the military from 1993-1996.

Ok, but Ron Paul would have to change obama’s small brain before he would run with him. Paul’s not a gangsta’ and wouldn’t fit in. Obama is going to have lower pol figures at the end than Carter, and that’s hard to beat.
That is a fine, thoughtful list BOB.
Here is the main problem with Obama:
Obama is a leftist dictator/true believer, who has emboldened our enemies to a fever pitch.
Obama has, for all intents and purposes, bankrupted the USA, and has everything in place to completely destroy our economy within the next 12 months. Just watch what the EPA, OSHA, EEOC, et al, does to our economy within the next year.
So was Clinton except he had a non filibuster proof senate and then the GOP took congress in 94
