I’m thinking that they had second thoughts about sending in the SEIU. The backlash over the union deal would simply energize the Brown voters. Purple shirts would be like red flags.

Eva, good point. I thought this while reading your reply post. If the Democrats get away with what they do, unlike Republicans who have to live to a higher standard, I'm sure SEIU, ACORN, or whomever will try to cheat their way into winning that seat. Just once, I'd love to see a teabagger, conservative, right wing nut job, anti-American get away with winning a seat. Hopefully, this time on Tuesday evening or Wednesday am, the conservatives can call the Massachusetts Senate seat un-teddy.
