Has JD Hayworth waited too long to get into the race considering how much money it will take to get rid of McCain?

What if Sarah stayed out of Arizona or what if she funded both and just let the best man win? What is best tack for her politically.

The best tack for all politicians is to hold their fire till the general election. There is too much to lose if the guy you didn’t back wins anyway. Plenty of time to weigh in after the primaries.

I don't think so. JD has a local radio show in AZ and is well known already. McCain has plenty of negatives in AZ. I say that advisedly having a home in Scottsdale. His dismal performance in 2008 and his stance on amnesty hurt him among GOP voters. This is not an open primary, which is definitely not in McCain's favor. JD doesn't have to be as well funded given McCain's negatives.

My advice would be to stay out of the primary battle and leave it up to the AZ GOP voters. She could say that she would support whomever received the nomination. I believe the worse thing she could do would be to support McCain out of loyalty.
