Unless they’re planning to get so bad so as to force a shoot down and that’s how they plan to kill hundreds of people in the plane. Sort of suicide by cop, in the air.
I doubt we will see any shoot down except possibly near a nuke plant or Washington DC.
As it stands right now its near impossible to take control of a commercial aircraft and its a taboo subject in some respects but ground controllers can remotely control aircraft with auto pilots to keep them in a holding pattern.
