Maybe maybe not.
That’s another possibility. The Imams may know it and are afraid of how it will impact them.
Hmmm. Muslims can be deceptive, but so can westerners. WE all do it, but they excuse it. We deny it.
I’m just saying it APPEARS to be a positive step.
But we should always keep our powder dry.
I probably know more about Islam than you do.
Check my prior posts on it.
If something positive appears, check it out, but keep your powder dry.
Please read the Sunnahs and Hadiths. That is the way Islam works. Else stick to the western interpetation of Islam and never understand what or who the ememy is, let alone name the ememy. Islam is an extreme political movement with religious trappings - nothing more.
The authority of Allah is absolute. Cannot be usurped. Cannot be modified. Individualism, freedom do not exist within Islam. Allah controls everything that happens down to the subatomic level and beyond - everything. The authority of Allah is absolute.
The problem these Islamists have is axiomatic truth that in America their people also have the freedom to leave Islam!
I’m with you - its a good sign - unless its just a CYA for a known upcoming attack to prevent a local (USA) backlash ... have to wait and see - similiar statements from imams world-wide would be helpful. ;-)
Sorry, but you’re misinformed. Grand Mufti’s are not equivalent to a Pope, but nice try.
The fellow pictured with Adolph Hitler was the Grand Mufti of Jerusalem, by the way. Both were extreme Jew haters.

“The authority of Allah is absolute.”
However corrupted by extremists who take it upon themselves to “martyr” other muslims who are not of the extreme?
Geez, I can just imagine how utterly insane it all must seem to clean-living, family-valued, law-abiding atheists who were born in the USA.
Finally! I knew there were good Muslims, but their leadership has yet to speak out against terrorists, UNTIL NOW. BRAVO.
The lack of a centralized Islamic authority, such as a Pope, is what makes dealing with Muslims so difficult. For Muslims, it is their religious books, and adherence to those books, that proscribe their lives and relation to a mosque and local religous leader.
There existed in the past powerful Muslim religous leaders located in large metropolitan centers such as Damascus, Cairo, Istanbul, or other Islamic cities, who would often go to war against one another in order to gain hegemony as ‘the most powerful Muslim spiritual leader’. Damascus held that position for a long time, even controlling events as far away in Spain for a long while.
Competition between these religous leaders was tough, but there has never been one official central encompassing religous leader for all of Islam world-wide. There is a group in Medina that is respected world-wide for its authority concerning Islamic law, and it has the final say on that subject. But Islam stretches from Morroco on the western shores of Africa all the way to New Guinea in the south Pacific and what sets it apart is that it is really so decentralized.
The Roman Catholic Pope, on the other hand, is in direct control of the Roman Catholic Church everywhere it exists: all priests, all nuns, all religous orders and over all laity.
There is no comparison.
I will join the NASCAR fatwah when they announce it.
“There is room for Islam i the west....”
Looks like you have sampled the kool-aid.
“Over 10 million live in North America?”
Well, at least in the United State, over 290 million don’t.
idk, but politics sometimes makes strange bedfellows.. don’t forget, that man in Iran that got cheated out of the election by Ahmanutjob was historically no great friend to America, but was a greater friend to freedom in Iran than the current regime.
In many cases, Muslims have more freedom to practice Islam here in Canada and the United States than many Muslim countries.
It's a reality seldom admitted.
Keep your powder dry and be ready to get the draw on ‘em.
Ok - but Mr. Pope only controls the Catholics - not the whole of Christiandom -— much like the aforesid Ali Gomaa.
