A boy-o from Southie was telling me one election eve at the local function hall how he voted in Boston at ten different polling places.

Things like that help explain the durability of the Kennedy dynasty, the Barney Frankenship, etc.

There is such lack of documentation on actual, verified voter fraud that it is difficult to find a source for any legitimate statistics. There is a lot of anecdotal smoke from both sides on this, but very little fire from either.

The New York Daily News did a study in 2000 (EXPOSED: SCANDAL OF DOUBLE VOTERS 46,000 registered to vote in city & Fla.) that looked at people who were double-registered in New York and elsewhere.

The key statistics:

Of the 46,000 registered in both states [New York and Florida], 68% are Democrats, 12% are Republicans and 16% didn't claim a party.

In all my life (and I’m over 40 years old, closer to 50) I have NEVER heard of an instance of Republican voter fraud.

Not only are they too clueless to pull it off, but they seem to be unable to prevent it.

Note to self: Hope Scott Brown’s campaign has enough volunteers for poll watchers.

I wonder if I can be a poll watcher in MA if I live in NH?
