I still believe it has to do with his paternity ... the name ‘Frank Marshall Davis’ keeps coming up.

Unlikely. It is pretty well conceded that Obama Sr. and Mom went thru a marriage ceremony 6 months before the birth. In all states, AFAIK, a child born to a married couple is legally the offspring of the husband. Actual biological sperm-donor irrelevant. I can think of no reason a BC would list another man as the father of the child of a married woman.

Of course, since Sr. was already married in Kenya to one or more women, the marriage wasn't really valid under Hawaii law. But there is no reason at all to believe Mom or the State knew this at the time.

Anyway, since Davis was a US citizen, his being the bio-dad would do nothing to affect Obama's elibibility to be president.

I have so far seen no logical explanation for what seems to be Obama's determination not to release the original documentation of his birth. Whatever it is, I doubt it affects his constitutional eligibility to be president.

FWIW, I agree with Beck that the whole birther controversy has so far been a political boon to Obama. Quite probably is shouldn't be, but that does appear to be how it's playing in the public perception.

How has it helped Obama?

If all the court cases were reported and Obama spoke out that people were after him...and public felt sorry for him, I could see it helping him. Obama will never speak in public about it because when it finally comes out he will say he never lied.

People who get the news through MSM have no clue it is a issue.

No logical explanation? Wouldn't a long-form birth certificate listing a non-citizen as his father and/or stating that he was born outside the US more than enough of a logical reason for going to such expense and extremes to keep the BC under wraps? After all, if he released the incriminating documentation showing he was constitutionally ineligible to be POTUS, he likely would be out of the White House in short order, and could face criminal charges of fraud.
