That had better not be true, and let me tell you why.

A former CIA official said the mother of three who was the agency's base chief in Khost had worked for the CIA's Counterterrorist Center and had a history in counterterrorism dating back to the agency's so-called Alec Station. That unit was created to monitor Osama bin Laden years before the 9/11 attacks.

The mother of three was the CIA's team leader. CIA teams are divided into operational groups and support groups. The former group has the covert agents. The support group takes care of logistical and support needs of the operational units.

I have to question why a mother of three was sent by the CIA to lead the team.

Hypothetically, if a head of state were to be cowed into curtailing such activity by the prospect of further retaliation, then mightn't that person be considered "successfully terrorized"?
