I have yet to hear a pro-Palin comment from anyone - Jewish or gentile - at elite Manhattan gatherings I attend.

I always bring her name up if the conversation turns to politics, and I always get the same set of reactions: idiot-redneck-biblethumping-cretin.

The well of top drawer opinion has been thoroughly poisoned, and that crowd will never see her as the radiant, patriotic, pro-freedom, pro-family force she is.

Could that be because that well of elite opinion is unanimously bitter, unpatriotic, anti-freedom and anti-family?

Exactly!
I think its primarily due to sense of “elitism”.
People look at the journalism degree, the “beauty queen” background and are instantly reminded of the “airheads” they once knew. (I think every sorority, cheerleader, etc I knew in college was either a journalism, poly sci, or PR major!)
But as we all know it's not the degree (or even lack of a degree) that matters in long run, it's what you do with it. (or in spite of it!)

Sara Palin has long since proved she has what it takes to be of presidential timber. It would have been great of she had been able to finish her term as governor. (It would have increased her margin of experience.) However I do understand why had to resign. (Brilliant political move!)
She has shown that she has good judgment and is a leader.
This is what is required for the presidency. She seem to be particularity skilled at surrounding herself wit capable people. (Something Obama is abysmal at, which may indicate the choices aren't his!)

Also I am one of those people that think leaders are born not made, I particularly think this when I am forced to take the odd mandatory management class!

idiot-redneck-biblethumping-cretin.

Wear the badge proudly, Brother.

You’re probably a Yankee too. That was supposed to be derogatory in the 17th century. Like “Teabagger” is now.
