Same article Marty. Your comment about that article suggests the Commentary writer is pointing to antisemitism as a cause for Jews hating Sarah Palin.

Can't blame it all on antisemitism though because we have the example of Charles Krauthammer, an otherwise nice guy, who has said things about her that suggests he hates and despises her ~ and all totally irrationally.

I could imagine someone could disagree with Charles on some basis other than antisemitic urges quite easily.

Part of the problem with this and other articles about the Jewish Democrat vote in this country is that the estimates of the numbers of Jews have plummeted from about 12 million when I was a kid to about 4 or 5 million today. Apparantly Jewish people who live outside the New York metro area simply don't claim to be Jewish anymore, or they've all become Holy Rollers (or something).

There are a gazillion articles about the phenomenon and I assure you I have no idea what the answer is ~ although I finally figured out why Cincinatti figures so prominantly in the Reform movement.

I subscribed to Commentary for many years. With the coming of the internet it was no longer necessary to do so. Even without hard returns in the text their typical article is easy to read ~ you can tell there are some bright minds behind the stories and they are worth reading a couple of times EVEN IF YOU DISAGREE WITH THE WRITERS ON EVERYTHING.

The net is going to kill this magazine (as a magazine) though, and this might well be the last time anyone here gets a shot at what magazine articles used to be like.

I understand what you are saying but this article was written by a Jennifer Rubin.
I think Krauthammers dislike of Sarah is a more elitist bent.
Maybe he considers her less “refined”, than what he would like in a candidate.
I wish I could explain the problem, but frankly I do not have a clue.
I have never lived in an anti-semitic or anti-christian mindset.
Frankly I don’t want to go there.
I only wish that someone, anyone would plainly state why they feel the need to make sweeping statements about a person without proof to support their conclusion.
