4 Whyislam and ICNA workers (coined by the media as the “Houston Taliban”) held jihad training camps on Islamic Society of Greater Houston property in Willis Texas north of Houston. The men sought firearms training in the Houston area on at least eight occasions between May 2005 and June 2006. Semi-automatic weapons were used in paramilitary training conducted by an undercover FBI agent. The men were in possession of an Armalite M15A4 rifle, a .308 rifle and a 12-gage shotgun, a Glock pistol and other weapons. The group was photographed and recorded during the paramilitary training exercises.

They're scratching their heads in Houston over this one: "A Saudi Arabian national who slashed a Jewish friend's throat after apparently undergoing a religious reawakening has pleaded guilty to murder rather than face trial." This from the Houston Chronicle, with thanks to Mrs. Obelix and Nicolei. Mohammed Ali Alayed, 23, faces up to 60 years in prison for the Aug. 6 attack in which Ariel Sellouk was almost decapitated with a knife.

Philadelphia Police are investigating the discovery of a Molotov cocktail along with anti-Israeli books inside a Center City parking garage. The discovery was made at about 2:00 p.m. Wednesday inside a garage located at Callowhill and N. 16th Streets. The garage is in close proximity to the office of the Department of Homeland Security and the Immigration and Customs Enforcement offices. Police initially responded to a report of a man sleeping next to a suspicious device in the office of the parking garage.
"Before the police arrived, the male left the property. He left behind a Molotov cocktail and literature," Captain Dennis Wilson explained. Investigators said the man left behind anti-Israel/pro-Palestinian books and documentation, along with an Arabic dictionary.
"It looks like a Molotov cocktail, some sort of accelerant in a bottle, sealed top, with a fuse," Captain Wilson said. Captain Wilson said they know exactly who the individual is because he left behind his laptop and his identification. There were no injuries, police said. So far, no arrests have been made. The incident remains under police investigation.

Snips: Though the posts under the screen name Farouk1986 have not been officially confirmed to be Abdulmutallab’s, security officials have said they are investigating them, and the events described by the poster closely follow the 23-year-old’s life.
Farouk1986 describes himself as Nigerian, at boarding school, and talks about his summer in Yemen in 2005. He introduces himself as Umar, but “you can call me Farouk”, the name by which Abdulmutallab’s friends and family also knew him.
Farouk1986 asks for a link to a “jihad forum” from a fellow Islamic Forum contributor calling himself Jihad4Ever, going on to say he hopes to meet the other posters in another forum where they can share “useful knowledge”.
“I imagine how the great jihad will take place, how the Muslims will win insha Allah and rule the whole world, and establish the greatest empire once again!!!” he wrote in February 2005.
Snips: Perhaps none of the generally-accepted conventional wisdom items on the recent jihadist attacks is as dangerous as the constantly-repeated refrain that the individuals "acted alone." While the acts may have been carried out by individuals, they are all part and parcel of the broader Islamist movement to recreate the caliphate as Allah's kingdom on earth. There are push and pull factors and actors that part of a coherent whole that work with these individuals to make their actions possible.
So, you have lonely, alienated and unhappy people, in effect being told that their alienation is a sign that they are close to Allah and on their way to salvation. What is required of them? To use whatever means available to attack the current system perpetrated by infidels, and bring about a new, Islamic world.
