Thank you all so very much for your thoughts and prayers.
After another very long day on the computer and satellite phone, we finally got our son on a small commuter flight out of Santiago. He is now in Montevideo, Uruguay for two days of meetings. Hopefully, he will be home on Wed.
He told us that when the earthquake hit, he thought (in a dream state) that his toddlers were jumping on his bed. After he finally fully awoke, he thought he had a bit too much wine tasting.....when he was literally thrown from his bed, he knew it was an earthquake.
He said that the government in Chile is doing a rather remarkable job handling this disaster. It is probably the best and most progressive country in South America.
One very sad note.....one of the wood production mills we have been dealing with (they were situated right on the coast) is gone. Their sawmill was only 50 yards from the beach.
Thankis again for caring.
“Thankis”.....a bit of brain fog here.
I pray the people who owned, worked for and lived near the mill survived. It's awesome your son will be home on Wednesday. Bet he'll be reliving this for some to come and filling you in on details only those who experienced it could know.
Yes, and I’ve heard good things about Chili and the people as well. It is a country I would like to visit one day. I hear it is quite beautiful.
Sorry about the loss of the Mill there but I’m certain the people will work at getting things back all in due time. Hopefully they’ll have another site to rebuild on that isn’t so close to the water there.
Thanks for sharing this with us...am priviledged as others that you shared here .
