Some speculate the rich young ruler was the future Apostle Paul.
Why would you care about what others speculate? Doesn't Scripture tell us what we need to know?
We are destroying speculations and every lofty thing raised up against the knowledge of God, and we are taking every thought captive to the obedience of Christ. 2Cor 10:5

The key phrase is “against the knowledge of God.” If it were true it wouldn’t add anything more than an interesting detail, and if it were false nobody has held it up as doctrine.
The Greek word often translated as “speculations” has no exact English equivalent, if you were unaware. An equally plausible rendition is “imaginations.” Stuff that is made up for its own sake.
