It sure is that!!
I was a Physical Education teacher but gave it up when it became hard to understand the kids ‘mutterings’, lol.

It’s an unseen disability and sometimes people think you ignored them, things like that.

Yes, all the time ... rude, stuck up. Sometimes accused of being stupid. I hate when I have to ask people to repeat two, three or more times, then give up and say “yeah”. Probably lots of inappropriate responses. :)

The worst is being in a dining situation where you cannot hear the person next to you since they are at your “bad ear”. So you twist your body so that your good ear is next to them [sigh].

It is hard for people to understand. :)
