My son is sensible but has a liberal mindset because ... well, I don’t really know why, but he started talking about health care and seemed to feel that we should ‘do something’ about those who have no insurance and he’s willing to support ‘something’ even tho he knows there’ll be fraud. I cut off the discussion at this point because, hey, it’s Christmas and he lives 600 miles away (but still in Texas).
It is a natural outgrowth of childhood. As a child you are dependent on someone for your needs. When you suddenly are forced out into the real adult world, the tendency is for the child to look for a "new parent". Most kids tend to look to Government as the "new parent." They eventually out grow that once they are forced to actually deal with the Government awhile.
