From the Muppet old men on cspan, I just heard a new criticism that might become a mantra:

“I can remember when the Senate only needed 51 votes.” (Used to excuse Obama’s lack of progress on his campaign promises.)
Their recommendation: Change the Senate rules; aka, it’s the Republicans’ fault.

When a caller attacked “Wall Street”, their recommendation was - you guessed it - MORE government regulation.

Morning AB, All....

Got a couple of stories to share this morning but I’ll start with the cat that is now, even as I type, sitting high in a tree in my backyard.

It’s a white cat, owned by somebody in the neighborhood. She wears a collar, looks well-fed. But she is let free and we always find her in our backyard or around our house. Of course I talk to her kindly as I am a cat sort of guy. We are owned by four cats already.

Got a Belgian Malinois, she’s used to cats. They love her; she tolerates them, thinking cats are mostly a waste of human time that would be better spent on care of dogs.

But Belgian Malinois, she don’t like white cats in her yard. This morning as I go out to do our morning exercises, dog chases something as dog always does. Mostly it’s squirrel-rodents that must scurry across the yard and up a tree, which dog, due to genetics, cannot climb.

I hear something scurry up a tree and I think it’s a squirrel-rodent. I continue my morning job around my “track” as dog tries to climb tree in her extreme anxiety. I must look up as this is a bit hyper reaction for a mere squirrel-rodent.

It is the white cat, then about halfway up the tree. I am dumbfounded. It is the proverbial cat in the tree, it’s in my yard, I am in the middle of my morning exercise routine which I could not do the prior two days due to holiday and overnight guests. Somehow the white cat was in the yard when I exited the house and the dog will find anything not supposed to be in our yard quite handily. The sun shines, the snow melts, I look forward to a good workout after meals of ham and scallopped potatoes.

I go in and get husband out of bed because hey, this is something husband should know. Belgian Malinois is going nuts to get up the tree to get to the white cat, which is very scared hanging on up high, you must understand. We call dog into house, thinking that white cat will surely come down with dog out of way.

Well it’s been almost two hours by now and white cat is STILL in tree. Dog is in house with the four cats that she lives with and has forgotten about white cat.

So I don’t know what’s going to happen but I went ahead and did my exercise routine with the cat in the tree. Cat kind of relaxed and dog once in a while tried to climb the tree so at least at that time the cat didn’t seem too awful terrified. I talked to it sweetly and hey, I don’t think the dog would hurt the cat but the dog, she don’t like critters of human or animal kind in her yard. It’s her job.

So I got two great anecdotes about Obamer but I’ve taken so much time with white cat story read the next post.
