Rep. Peter King has named the suspected terrorist who attempted to blow up an Amsterdam to Detroit flight today as "Abdul Mudallad.", according to the AP in an article timestamped 7:04 p.m. EST.
King was just on live with CNN talking about the failed terrorist attack, but the CNN anchor cut King off when he started to say the suspect's name and would not allow King to name him. The anchor said CNN was not able to confirm the name.
King is the Ranking Member on the House Homeland Security Committee.
Citing federal officials, MSNBC is also naming the suspect, but uses a more complete version: "Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab".
MSNBC also reports Abdul Mutallab left Lagos, Nigeria yesterday and boarded flight 253 in Amsterdam today.
A known Al Qaeda terrorist not on the No Fly List?
Of course not. We had been surveilling those nasty Amish and Mennonite suspects and hadn’t suspected anybody being profiled from a Islamic background,..because that would be racist,..but there have been some very suspicious grandmothers of Mennonite backgrounds which warranted all American counterintelligence resources, to be refocused around to defend our freedom and liberties. This one slipped by unannounced and might also simply be a feint of the true Christian threat, because we all know Al Quada and Islamic fundamentalism are just alternative religious persuasions.
Isn't that great. Perhaps we didn't want to offend him.
They tried a suicide body bomb to take out some Saudi. Got into good position. Suicided nicely. Made a BIG mess. Didn’t much hurt the target.
“suicide bombers are now storing explosives inside their bodies in order to avoid detection.”
As awful as it sounds, maybe our default screening devices should be those x-ray booths/machines at airports. It’s extreme, but may be necessary. When I notice one at the airport check-in, I choose that line. With an artificial hip that alerts the metal detectors 100% of the time, doing the x-ray is more convenient. It takes about one minute. The alternative is to be pulled out of line, have them call for a female TSA rep who might show up in five minutes, then the Neanderthal gropes and frisks while my bags are sitting unattended at the end of the conveyor belt. It’s taken as long as 15 minutes at LAX.
I believe the x-ray thingie picks up everything. Anyhow, IMHO...
Twitter @rachelsklar How’d you settle on ‘Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab’? I’m seeing “Abdul Mudallad” and “Abdul Farouk Abdulmutallab”. CONFUSING.
A good question, which I think even the MSM has noticed. However, these lists have gotten so large and political that there must be a large bureaucracy to maintain them. The inertia involved in that could be a factor. I’m neither saying don’t ask the question nor to automatically accept any answers, just don’t as automatically reject innocent sounding explanations. Trivial goofs with no malign intent have commonly impacted war. The No Fly List isn’t and can’t be either perfect or without cost. The goal should be to optimize it, as one of many layers of defence, not to view it as the French once did the Maginot Line.
Beats me. This bloody “Religion of Peace’’ bs leaves me boiling mad. Wheres Janet Napolotano on this? Silly question. That woman makes Barney Fife look like The Terminator.
Nah, he was working for Halliburton but I heard he was working for for Dick Cheney.
As usual, the US MSM is completely asleep at the wheel on this.
The jehadist "lone wolves" are now being summoned, and it is or will invariably involve aircraft.
Al-Qaeda is going on the offensive.
Yemen is key in this.
Also, the US MSM is completely missing the point that Anwar al-Alawqi (Nidal Hasan's handler who was blasted to smithereens recently in Yemen) gave an interview in Arabic to al-Jazeera where he in so many words said that he adivsed and directed Hasan to go out and commit the terrorist act of mass murder at Ft Hood as a viable, Muslim act spiritually. There you have it. Al Qaeda, in Yemen, telling lone wolve muslims ALREADY IN THE US, to hit soft targets.
And CNN and others would hide the Muslim affiliation of these murderers, and once they can no longer hold the dyke back of information flow because we are international with the internet, they then try to explain it away as psychological imbalances, frustrated at lack of marriage, not adjusted to US military life, etc. etc.
Big things are in store, and the US Mass Media is not warning the American people to be vigilant, and is also complicit in cover up of the material facts after these acts and attempted acts of MUSLIM TERROR on the West occur. But we "should not jump to conclusions."
Mennoite you say? Ach, laddie! Sure ‘n’ begourrah he’s a Son ‘O’ Ole’ Sod like meself! H-A-double R-I-GAN spells Muslim terrorist!
Good post devolve
Well we’ve gotten hoarse voices but it’s our liberal families and friends that won’t blink an eye or decide within their moral compass that there is something that is “just not right” and that perhaps they need to look beyond the spoon fed MSM...that’s when hope and change will really happen.
Unfortunately, 9-11 wasn’t enough for them...it didn’t affect them...something else has to happen that will affect them in the immediate life, then you’ll see them scream and you’ll just sit back and shake your head and wonder why you had to do all the worrying and angst in your heart and soul for as long as we have.
God Bless America..please Lord, continue to Bless this land, we love and adore you, you are the only one who deserves praise forever and ever.
Can’t we all just get along?
This follower of the Religion of Peace was maybe just cold and wanted some heat!
Harry Reid.
Fire the TSA and hire Freepers to racially and ethnically profile airline passengers.
IOW, beware the guys with dirt under the fingernails of their left hand.
According to this nearby witness ('Mr. Chilly' was at window seat 19A, she was at 18B) on BreitbartTV "the flames shot higher than the seat."
.
Thanks potlatch
Happy Landings!
The suspect is a Muslim already on the list of suspected terrorists? I’m shocked.
I gather the incompetent TSA can answer why he inexcusably did not appear on the no-fly list. Or maybe I can just check the manual they posted online...
