I grew up in Wisconsin, but have been in Texas for many years now. It's very different here. When the temp drops, it is usually already raining, then it turns to snow, but underneath the dusting of snow is a sheet of ice like a skating rink. I don't care where you grew up. My friends and I used to think it was fun to do donuts on snowy roads. Not the same on this stuff!
Exactly, I had no problem driving in snow up in Michigan, but here in Texas the ice makes it darn near impossible, especially with the monster overpasses we have here in DFW.
I was in TX for training during the 2000 ice storm. Heard something on the local news we never hear in WI during an ice storm: “Please remember to turn off your lawn sprinklers. The water is going onto the roads and freezing.”
