Well, a little bit too late. The Indian nations suffered what has often happened to other peoples, they were conquered, and badly treated by the conquerors. Indeed, it can be said that they were worst treated than the African slaves. Still, that was a long time and those who suffered injustice are long since dead, they and even their grandchildren. No apology by Congress can raise the dead.

And in many cases the indians were doing it themselves. Sacajawea of Lewis and Clarek fame is a beautiful example. Her original tribe was slaughtered by another and she was captured as a slave. I may be mistaken but I believe she then ended up being captured by a 3rd tribe before being sold to Toussaint Charbonneau.
