Hey guys, I live in the San Joaquin Valley of California and when the winter weather patterns are right the wood burning that goes on would choke most people. We get all the pollution that the Bay Area produces including the wood burning smoke. Once the smoke gets to the valley it doesn’t leave. We have wood burning banned on winter days here too. When there is a high pressure system over the valley the smoke cannot escape and it is like a lid on us.
When the land was sparsely populated wood burning wasn’t a problem it is just that now the problem is geometric in proportion. I don’t like gov’t regulation either it is just in this case an occasional day or two on wood burning makes it easier for those of us downwind to breathe.
