I formally protest being made accessory to murder before the fact

Understand this: THIS IS THE WHOLE POINT - TO FORCE YOU TO BE COMPLICIT.

During the days of the draft and the Vietnam war you could be excused from the draft as a conscientious objector. I would seriously use conscientious objector status from paying federal taxes if they put fed funding of abortion into law. If they want to make me the Nelson Mandela of abortion that's just fine with me. That would probably be the best thing I've ever done with my life.

I find this extremely interesting. Many of the conscientious objectors demurred on the ground that they believed that becoming a soldier was tantamount to agreeing to complete a murder pact. That was actually a ridiculous argument unless they intended to go in-country and start shooting up the civilian populace. To the extent that they conscientiously prosecuted an actual war, they would be fighting with enemies armed as well as they, which is the antithesis of murder and the only true exception to the murder rule: you have the moral right to defend yourself to the extent you are attacked (or put in imminent peril of attack).

Here, we have an actual murder pact. Doctors and mothers conspire to kill the preborn children because they are inconvenient and, to date, we have been at most unwilling bystanders prevented by law from intervening to save the lives. Now, they intend to have us participate. I would think that the conscientious objector provision would apply a fortiori.

But, it won't. We are dealing with a new Curia and a new orthodoxy, utterly at moral right angles to a sane one, but prosecuted with vigor equal to anything any Church ever proposed or any State ever disposed.

I agree. It is seriously to be considered to compute the fraction of tax equal to that devoted to abortion support and to consciously and openly withhold it, saying why in no uncertain terms. It would not actually be a big number, but the point needs to be made. You are aware, of course, that unless the move is backed up with legal action in court, they would simply pile up penalties and interest. We could end up paying much more and perhaps unintentionally funding even more cruelty and mayhem than if we just paid the original tax.

The problem, I guess, remains: how to effectively protest this, assuming there is no electoral relief?
