Are you serious?”

The real question is, are you?
What planet are you living on? Mars? this is not Iran or North Korea.

They are passing the biggest government take over of our freedom in our history as we speak.”

# 1. It hasn't passed yet.
# 2, Whatever is passed by one congress, can be unpassed by another congress. Nothing is cast in stone .

Talk radio platitudes are not going to stop them.”

The stinging defeats suffered by the Democrats nh Virginia and New Jersey are not radio platitudes.
That's grass roots conservatives and the Tea parties CRSUHING 0bama and the Democrats right there.

Can you really be this naive?”

You are clearly clueless, weak kneed and out to peddle an 0bamabot "surrender and go to sleep already" propaganda. It won't work.
Most Americans are are made like hell, and they are fighting back. The Tea Parties are already crushing the Democrats in some polls.
New Jersey and Virgina say “Hello”.

Do you really think your vote will count”

Votes of conservatives counted mightily in Virginia where the Democrats got slaughtered, and New Jersey even after 0bozo had campaigned REPESYDLY in Nee Jersey for Corzine, and sent his own campaign staff and thugs to New Jersey, and the polls were very close. Still the Democrats got CRUSHED!
It's time for you to wake up from your slumber and smell the coffee of the grassroots conservative revolution that is sweeping the country n the form of the Tea Parties.

I like your optimism, SmokingJoe, and I agree with it. I get so tired of how so many Freepers seem to always want to preach doom and gloom no matter how good the news may be. This latest Rasmussen polls shows more Americans now HATE Obama more than ever! If Americans are THIS angry with the Marxist only 11 months after his inauguration, just imagine how bad things are going to be for him and his radical communist party by next November!

Agreed. Defeatism is self fulfilling.

I don’t see any possible way how such a provision is going to hold up, especially if it’s brought before the judicial branch. The provision is a complete and total violation of the Constitution and Senate rules.

If this radical Marxist a$$hole thinks he can just sneak a provision in the bill requiring a two-thirds vote to remove parts of it, then it should require two-thirds approval put the provision into the bill in the first place, yes?

Not really - this includes a lot of disenchanted liberals of the Olberdung kind - who are upset that the Kenyan pimp is not more liberal’

I really doubt if “disenchanted liberals” are in the “strongly disapprove” column. At best, they may be in the merely “disapprove” colmun.
The “strongly disapprove” are made up of hard core conservatives, the Tea Parties and an ever increasing cadre of independents.

I will try not to make you LUAGH (?) but if you think the “public option” is NOT in the bill in some other form, you - again - are purposely IGNORING reality! “

Now why don't yuo show me where the public option is at in the US Senate bill?
Why do you think the Daily Kos/DU kids and Howard Dean were up in arms over the Senate bill?

The next sentence in the the article just shows how addle brained most voters are (I would have said stupid but it’s getting close to Christmas and I’ll be a little charitable). Here it is:

“One bright spot in the numbers for the President is that 51% of voters still say former President George W. Bush is more to blame for the nation’s economic woes. Just 41% point the finger of blame at the current President. “

Obviously you decided to stay uninformed and didn’t read the article posted on the Free Rep about Harkin’s statement that this bill is “just the beginning” toward universal healthcare. If you BELIEVE Dean, Kos, etc are SINCERE in their outrage, you’d buy some sink hole in FL, no sweat...

"just the beginning toward" something is a heck of a lot different from "is already in the bill."

Harkin undoubtedly wants to believe that the bill will lead, inevitably, eventusally, to sxomethng much worse -- and there is reason to think that he may be right -- but that isn't inevitable, and depends on future elections and us.

Best example I can think of is Bill Clinton in 1993 vs “Republican challenger”. We had that won until we picked Bob Dull”

Bob Dole was solidly behind in practically every poll going into the elections, before he lost to Bill Clinton.
You example doesn't hold any water.
I asked for an example, where the GOP candidate was solidly ahead in the polls going into the elections, and ACORN, SEIU etc managed to steal the elections for the Democrats, like that poster “Drill Thrawl” was talking about in his post # 75 here:

Ok, for argument’s sake, let’s just say you’re right about everything you’ve just said. Now... What are you going to do about it?

We already have enough angst-ridden hand-wringing types on this board. It’s a good thing our forefathers didn’t throw their hands up and surrender whenever freedom and liberty came under attack.

I don’t think Obama will even try to run for a second term.

Unfortunately for us, Obama never intended to run for a second term. The plan all along was to ignore the voters and any re-election consequences. By doing that, Obama would have more power than any President in history, since he would be totally unrestrained by the electorate, and yet, as a first termer, not be considered a lame duck.

Obama is also willing to sacrifice the Democratic Party too, which seems to be working out quite nicely, since the Congressional Democrats have yet to figure out their fate under Obama's scorched earth calculations. Plus, the ones that have figured out their re-election chances are doomed, are no longer constrained either, and in an orgy of self-indulgence, many will likely vote for anything Obama asks for at this point, since it will make no difference to them anyway. As the Brits say, "In for a penny, in for a pound."

And the reason for all of this, you might ask? Well, Obama's plan is to irrevocably push the U.S. down a path of no-return in terms of bankruptcy, socialism, military defeat, and chaos. Well, why would he want this, you might wonder? Well, Obama's essentially a Marxist and a one-worlder, which means he applies the Marxist principals at the international level. The Marxist now know that their economic theories don't work, that is, they are no longer believe they can create a "worker's paradise". The best they can do in perpetuating their new idea of "equality" is to make everyone equally poor, since they know they can not make everyone equally wealthy. They want to do this both nationally and internationally, that is, they want to make everyone within each country equally poor, and also make every nation equally poor. Thus, the U.S. has to brought to the level of the majority of the rest of the countries. That is, the U.S. becomes just one more nation amongst hundreds.

My real fear is that the Obamunists have already achieved their aims, though this won't be apparent for a few years. Passage of Death Care almost guarantees this outcome, and I don't think it can be undone. At this point, probably the rest of Obama's agenda can not be passed because of the difficulty in bribing 60 senators for each and every vote, since even the dimmest Senatorial dimbulb now understands the full value of the sell-a-vote game. The problem of course is that all 60 Democrat Senators want to be the last vote, so now the new problem is to get those first 59 votes. Nonetheless, a miraculous implementation of of Capn Tax, citizenship for 14 million illegal aliens (thus creating 14 million shiny new Democrat voters), the KSM trial (whose legal precedents would effectively end the possibility of foreign U.S. military action) plus all the rest would definitely guarantee the desired destruction.

As to whether any of this can be undone, I'm not sure. I doubt it. Reversal depends on whether the electorate rises up and elects a hard-core conservative majority in both houses of Congress, including a veto proof Senate. Sure, it's a foregone conclusion that the Democrats will lose their current majorities, and Obama is not going to be re-elected, but will the conservatives of our nation rise up off their butts, invade the Republican Pary in mass, and take it over, kicking out the RINOs and nominate and elect a legion of Doug Hoffmans? I don't know. But I do know that even if the Republicans get their majorities, if the people who get elected simply choose to "go along" with the status quo and tinker about the edges a bit because they do not possess the "right stuff", then you and I, and the rest of us will have witnessed the beginning of the end of the greatest nation on the face of the planet.

Now why don't we see what Harkin has to say when he Democrats get slaughtered in the 2010 elections eh?
Hilter though the Third Reich was going to be around forever too. Where is he and his Third Reich at now?
In hell in all probability.

I have seen more evil, in more countries around the world than you probably ever will.
Not only that, I know where evil doers are coming from.
One thing is certain, evil only flourishes when the citizenry stand idly by and allow evil to flourish, like you have been suggesting we do.
The grassroots, mass movement Tea Parties say “Hell NO” to that suggestion.

It’s a skewed crowd, but I don’t know anyone who can even stand to hear him speak anymore, and the reaction is quite visceral.

Couple that with the fact that his base is turning against him too, and add in for good measure the irreversibly growing distrust of the mainstream media, and the general malaise the populace will feel as his policies kick in and the economy implodes even further.

His own tribes - Blacks, Muzzies and Communists - will likely continue to be true believers, but that slim fraction will be all he’ll ever retain.

His own party’s politicians may also revolt, despite his Chicago enforcers and Soros money, when they get a whiff of his coat tails.

Short of an coup, which will be met with armed revolt, I believe, he’s toast.
