Cantor Questions Clinton On Funding Pledge

In response to Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton's announcement in Copenhagen earlier today that the U.S. will join rich nations in raising $100 billion in an annual fund to help poorer nations combat climate change, Republican Whip Eric Cantor sent a letter to Office of Management and Budget Director Peter Orszag asking how the government plans to fulfill that pledge.

The Virginia Republican put forth a half-dozen questions about where the administration expects to get the money given the growing national debt. "Given our current deficit and the projections of future substantial deficits, where is the federal government going to get the billions of dollars necessary to fund this new foreign aid program?" Cantor wrote. He also asked Orszag how much of the $100 billion fund he expects the U.S. to pay for. Clinton, who was copied on the letter, did not specify how much the U.S. would contribute during her announcement.

A treaty is the only legal vehicle that can bind a new Congress to actions of a former. All other commitments must be renewed by the present Congress ... And that includes all budgets and financial commitments.

Read the Constitution you doofuses.

More importantly, why isn’t Cantor asking for proof of AGW before signing onto give taxpayer dollars away to third-world kleptocrats?

Sure we’ve got the dough. Ask Mr. Obama. Why just the other day he said that if we don’t a trillion dollars on health care, the US will go bankrupt.

I am sure it won’t be any trouble to raise another trillion for the stinking s-holes demanding it of us?

Nope. Its all borrowed money. Congress just raised the national debt ceiling. If we really had it, we wouldn't need to take on more debt, now would we? Our greatest problem today isn't an overheating planet; its our mountain of red ink.

$100 billion is apparently the answer to how much Obama is willing to spend to avoid being made a fool of in COP15.

Ludicrous proposal, and they should be called on it.
But, John Kerry D-Vietnam, received a standing ovation from the REPORTERS there.

Beam me up.

Funding source for this abomination should be simple - go to the voter roles and identify anyone foolish enough to register dhimmirat. Tax them...

Let’s see: the Clintons are worth about $100m, so all Hillary has to do is set an example by contributing a thousandth of the required funds, and then like-minded affluent liberals will follow suit. I’m waiting...
