One report said the Governor of Nebraska has spoken out and urged Nelson to vote against Obamacare.

The GOP need to make the deal with Nelson NOW - a handshake deal to flip and become a Republican when they win the Senate back next year. Let him keep his seniority and committee chairmanships. I'd do the same with Lieberman as well.
You can't fight WW3 with Revolutionary War tactics people.
Are you listening GOP - MAKE THIS DEAL NOW!!!!!!

Nelson is no fool. He saw Lieberman play hardball with Dingy and Reid caved.
To: Ravi
He must be hearing 50:1 against from his constituents. It would be MUCH easier for him if he simply followed Senator Shelby’s lead and switched over.

"The GOP need to make the deal with Nelson NOW - a handshake deal to flip and become a Republican when they win the Senate back next year."
That would be the best scenario. However, if he rejects that, another scenario they could come at him with is that if he does not vote for the bill, they promise to give no party money to any republican challenger.
I don't think Joe Leiberman would switch to being a Republican and really is liberal in many ways. I think that's a non starter. However, I would make a deal with Leiberman to allow him to keep his homeland security chairmanship if the Republicans take back the Senate next year and he would have to caucus with the Republicans as an independent. All in exchange for not voting for this monstrosity.

We CAN win this fight! We CAN beat back ObamaCare! God bless everyone who has kept the pressure on this congress, and God bless Senator Nelson (for all my many disagreements with him) for choosing life and choosing principle over blind party/Obama loyalty.

Sen. Nelson will never switch to the Republican Party.

I think the 20 Senators starting an investigation into the threat to put Offut on the BRAC list has given him the courage to hold his guns. I hope.

Sounds good to me!!!
GWB made sure Mike Johanns didn’t run against Nelson back in 2006. Johanns was appointed U.S. Secretary of Agriculture, assuring Nelson re-election.
As far as Lieberman goes, fine! Let him caucus with the GOP and keep his chairmanship of DHS.
GOP ARE YOU LISTENING??? MAKE THE DEALS NOW!!!

Well he should, as he’s more conservative than many of the current RINO’s. Then have him switch to IND and caucus with the Republicans.

Catholic and anti-abortion groups have also weighed in against the new language, which attempts to separate public from private funding What is this language, does anyone know, have a link? I'd like to read it, but pretty much figure it's the same baloney as earlier *compromise* language, in other words, phony. Money is fungible, there is no magic *lock box* for money to go to abortions as opposed to any/every other procedure, why they think we don't understand this ...

The more the Dems water this down to woo Lieberman, Nelson, Sanders etc, the more pissed off the House moonbats are getting.
Can you imagine the catfights when this bill goes into reconsiliation commitees ?
They will rip their eyes out to pass “something”.
