Would you have applied the same standard to Ronald Reagan when he picked Richard Schweiker for his VP in 1976? When he campaigned for Gerald Ford? When he campaigned for Pete Wilson?

No Al, because the stakes were not what they are now.

Any semi-smart ass can go back in history and say "woulda coulda shoulda" but the fact is, NOW is when we have a Communist in the White House, the GOP has been taken over by 'Rat enablers and RINOs, and conservatives cannot cut any more slack.

Now c'mon back to the present and face reality with us, and hope you enjoyed your trip to Nostalgia Land via the 'Way Back Machine'.

TODAY is what matters. The 'Rats are ready to sell America down the drain in one fell swoop. The current GOP is selling America down the drain in little bits and bites and that is the reality conservatives have to deal with.

RE :”The current GOP is selling America down the drain in little bits and bites and that is the reality conservatives have to deal with.

Right now Republicans sole theme is “We oppose democrats”. And it's working great too. They make great ‘opposition’ when in the minority and out of the White House.

But suppose many here had their dreams come true and Palin becomes a candidate in 2011 for 2012. So the theme would be “Vote for me to oppose Democrats for four years” ? I dont buy it!

Presidents always promise :1) to do big things, 2) the big things wont cost any voters anything

I need to get an idea what those 'big things' will be before I commit again.
