""But it doesn't diminish at all my enjoyment of him as an artist and a performer."" Am I the only child of the 60's & 70's who doesn't enjoy Bruce Springsteen? I've never understood the Springsteen cult.

I never understood his “charm” either.

No, I’ve never understood his cult status either, particularly after checking out the lyrics of his songs. I think it may have something to do with his reportedly putting money back into his community.

The highways are jammed with broken heroes on a last chance power drive who think Springsteen sucks.

I've never gotten the whole New Jersey music scene - Springsteen, Bon Jovi, lots and lots of boring, over-produced power ballads. It all sounded old when Bruce was young. I did like Nebraska - spare, simple and pure - but Springsteen apparently doesn't want to try recording like that again.

Never like Springsteen music or the concert clips I’ve seen. His on-stage behavior seems so mannered or something.

You’re not alone - I can’t stand the guy and never could.
To: OldDeckHand
Nope, I grew up in the ‘70s and ‘80s and thought he was a big jerk.

No, I am also one. Springsteen is nothing more than a Commie,Junkie,Adulterer. Why anyone pays attention to these “celebtards” is beyond me.
