WASHINGTON, D.C (WSFA) - A U.S. Senator from Washington state is drawing heat from numerous Alabama representatives after a morning radio interview took aim at Alabama's workforce.

Senator Patty Murray (D-Washington) was interviewed Monday morning on NPR's "All Things Considered" program in regards to the contentious Pentagon contract for a new fleet of refueling tankers.

"I have stood on the line in Everett, Washington," she told NPR," where we have thousands of workers who go to work every day to build these planes. I would challenge anybody to tell me that they've stood on a line in Alabama and seen anybody build anything."

Murray is a union-hugging, liberal skank. She absolutely hates that Alabama’s workforce is largely non-union and is willing to actually work for their earnings.

Patty Murray is just showing her true colors as a northern elitist liberal. Everyone from the South is stupid, according to these people. There is plenty of this mentality here in Minnesota.

Not to worry, once the Health Care Bill forces all states to provide Medicaid at 150% of the poverty level y’all will be paying the same high taxes as Seattle, Detroit and Buffalo and the won’t be no need to move your manufacturing South*
(*unless we’re talking South China....)

There is a substantial automotive industry in Alabama:
Toyota has an engine plant in Huntsville,
Hynda has a plant south of Montgomery,
Mercedes Benz has a plant near Tuscaloosa,
International Harvester has a plant in Huntsville,
Honda makes mini vans in the SW part of the state,
and there is another plant in the Talledega area (forget the brand).
Chrysler had a large presence in Huntsville for a long time, beginning with the
space contracts they had, and also their automotive electronics plants.
Chrysler made the first stage of the Saturn I rocket in the 1960’s, and
Decatur now has the Delta rocket plant.

Doesn’t she know that only us Georgians can say bad stuff about Alabama? And that is only because we know Alabamans are the only we will tolerate saying anything about us. Both states’ residents would fight another outside source to defend each other though. Kind of like rival brothers, but very clannish. LOL

they may decide to build the bulk of the planes at their non-union South Carolina Plant instead of the Union one in Washington.

I believe that is a done deal. BE&K is going to build the facility.

Does she not realize that Huntsville, Alabama is a space (NASA) manufacturing hub? (or at least it was when we actually had a robust space program). Not just manufacturing but high-tech production.

I lived in Birmingham for 9 years in the 70’s. Judging from the amount of smoke, there was a whole lotta manufacturing going on.

Well Ms. Murray has never seen the Robert Trent Jones golf trails - built in less than 2 years they are some of the best golf courses in America. She may have missed the fact that Bessemer Steel process came from Ala long before there was a Boeing.
