Evansville native, John Hostettler, is seeking to have his name put on the Indiana ballot in a campaign against incumbent Senator Evan Bayh. This engineer has been a member of Congress for Indiana, District 8, as a member of the House of Representatives from 1995-2007.
His positions within Congressional committees include: the House Committee on Agriculture (1995-2001), the House Committee on Armed Services (1995-2007) and the House Committee on The Judiciary (2001-2007).

I sent an e-mail to Bayh and told him he was going to be out of a job next year.
Bayh voted for Obama’s “stimulus,” and if he votes for a liberal health care “reform” bill then yes, I agree, he will lose next year, and his famous family name won’t even be able to save him.
Cool. I think this is a seat that can be had.
I’m also counting on Dodd, Reid and Bidens’ seats going to the pubbies.
I hope I’m right!
I hear unemployment is really bad in Indiana; like 15 to 18%
Is that right??
We have a good Governor, who is cutting state budgets to deal with problems.
The Indiana Constitution requires that the state keep a positive balance so you will never see the problems like Ohio, Mi. and IL. have.
Bye-bye Bayh...
The rate is something like that. But it depends on who reports the figures.
Positive balance is a good thing. Maybe they can try to do furlough system where state employees get an extra few weeks off with no pay. That should take some beef out of the publis sector unions.

9.8 in October state wide. Latest available.
Not sure about this. Hostettler was cremated running for re-election in 2006 in a conservative leaning district. Why doesn’t Mike Pence run for this seat? He would be perfect.
Indiana 8th district was gerrymandered big time. Now includes Terre Haute (home of Eugene Debs).
Terre Haute has a GOP Mayor now.
