Thank you for responding.

"My question would be; if evolution can be seen as an effective method to provide variety among species, and the necessary change that lets them survive and prosper with challenge and time, then why cannot evolution be seen as an efficient method to design various creatures and entities?"

"I don't know if that is what you were thinking of with that question. I'll need to think about that more if you want more answer."

I don't know what I was thinking of with that question, or whether I was thinking of anything in particular. It's just one of those permutations that come up.

I do want you to think further about if you will. The answer to it would seem to revolve around just how involved God was with how the world and all in it came to be.

Some see God as a baker, toiling endlessly to produce scores of animal cracker beings to fill the Earth. I don't see Him that way.

I see God as a potter, lifting the clay and shaping it, making it into something that will be useful to Him for His own purposes, and breathing into it His breath as He brings it to life.

Perhaps the spinning Earth was only needed as a potter's wheel. As Mr. Thompson has said, He does work in mysterious ways.

Dizzying concept, no?

"If God could mysteriously (since her parents were not sinless) cause Mary to be born without original sin then why couldn’t God just have allowed Jesus to be mysteriously born without original sin even if Mary was born into original sin?"

That is a great question. I think (I am not answering for the Catholic Church) it has to do with the hierarchical relationship between Mary and all other women including Eve. Mary had to be greater than all other women, including Eve who was conceived immaculately from Adam's rib. For most of human history the natural relationships among humans was to have exalted royalty. To introduce Mary and Jesus to the world, at that point in human history, in any other state would have made an already difficult task even harder.

"I am still not sure I understand but that’s alright."

That makes two of us. I'm terribly jet-lagged. I was in Asia all last week. Ping me tomorrow and maybe I can give you a more cogent answer then.

Cheers

Now you NOW saying Jesus had sin? And are you going to say that is a teaching of the Catholic Church?

ROFLMAO!!!!

Just because you did not like that I outed your hostile posts (btw, I got several “thank you” freepmails for that), and you did threaten (twice) to track my posts, to which I responded “Go ahead”.

How am I a phony? Really.

And I also work in the “legal world” as does DH. You do not scare me, just make me laugh.

"You got that, chump?"

- love

- joy

- peace

- patience

- kindness

- goodness

- faithfulness

- gentleness

- self-control

The Roman Catholic Church adds to this list generosity, modesty, and chastity. How are you doing on those?

No, I stated that you threatened to track my posts, not that you have.

*sigh* and again, I only listed posts from THIS THREAD that ONE night.

"Now you NOW saying Jesus had sin?"

I said Jesus carried our sins. Per the catechism of the Catholic Church:

“In other words, Jesus freely offered himself up to death to free us from sins, as it was written in Scripture and in his Father’s divine plan.” (601)

Are you sure you have no relationship with GGG? Like him, you are so good at baiting people some might even call you a master.

Natural Law knows that Jesus was born without original sin.

What do you say that, when he says the opposite.

Jesus carried our sins, not his own. 1,862 posted on Monday, December 14, 2009 12:41:06 AM by Natural Law

To: metmom; CaptRon
He is just upset because I called him hostile and listed posts on THIS thread, that I considered hostile, to support my claim.

So he goes all “three mile island” on me and starts with the threats to keep track of my posts.

Not by me either, I said you were hostile. I never called you a liar NOR did I imply you were less than honest.
