Apparently there has been picked up some radio chatter from the Russian coast guard about a launch in the Archangelsk area.

How could a projection be visible from Trondheim to Alta. It must be really high up in the atmosphere.

If so, the university kids have Project bluebeam beat :-P

I wonder how it could be a missile or rocket when it is so stationary and spiraling...then disipates uniformly from the center. Besides, a launch vehicle in distress would be a hell of a lot brighter. A launch vehicle not in distress wouldn't leave so faint and distinct contrail. Unless it's some type of new plasma drive or some such. Who knows?
