“Hate crimes”, pure and simple.

Please: let's not go there...doing so gives legitimacy to the phrase "hate crime", which is a creation of the political Left -- which, IMO, is blatantly unconstitutional. Why don't we just get rid of the idea of "hate crimes" altogether & severely increase the penalties of the actual crimes that were committed?

I agree completely. Assigning the motive of hate is completely unnecessary and, yes, I think unconstitutional. The idea of legislating such a thing is nonsense.

However, if the laws exist, and if such laws were constitutional, they should apply to anyone, not just a segment of the population. But, then, so should any health “care” legislation apply to everyone, and especially congrescritters.
