And... Steele and McCain and Gingrich and Romney and Snowe, etcetera, etcetera, at no point stop and ask themselves: "... WHY is this happening...?"

The conservatives have to take over the GOP, not abandon it or wait for them to change their stripes.

Ideally, yes. You are right.

I’m voting for a conservative republican in my district’s congressional priomary race. However I won’t be voting for the carpetbagger the NRCC recruited to run against him.

I do agree that a 3rd party needs to grow from within a party.

Not the point being addressed. You stated: "And...Rahm and Axelrod and Carville and Obama and Wright and etc etc positively jubilant."

The logical follow-up query, then, becomes: "... and whose fault is that, ultimately? That of the actual conservative voting base, themselves... or a craven and thoroughly compromised Republican party leadership?"

You appear to be leaning towards the former, rather than the latter. There's a time-honored, deadly accurate technical term used to describe political parties which no longer reflect -- and are even openly contemptuous of -- the concerns and desires of their respective bases.

That term is: LOSERS.

Think about it. Hard.

I agree. Personally, I don't construe this poll to mean that a third party should emerge. I show it to mean that a conservative takeover of the GOP is potentially already underway.

Recently replied 2 & fwd. an email about Congressional Candidate Allan WEST, and added as a recipient the RNC and Chairman STEELE encouraging them to quit throwing Conservatives under the bus and get behind them for a change if they want the Republican party to ever go anywhere or even continue to exist for that matter. ,

My original e-mail (edited):

Congressional candidate Lieutenant Colonel Allen WEST

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3n6F-ZeQj9Y&feature=related

I'd vote for him in a heartbeat!
Sure wish we had firebrand Patriots like him running up here in Maine!
I've long maintained, just like he does, that my induction oath taken in 1967 to "...support and defend the Constitution..." etc. had no expiration date concurrent with my ETS, nor have I ever renounced it, nor do I ever intend to.

One of the comments on the Las Vegas site was kinda cute;

"Since West opposes Obama, he must be a RACIST!" :-\ Hmmmmm..... Go figure! ...

...Visit the Lt. Col.'s Web site HERE:

Allen West for US Congress 2010

http://allenwestforcongress.com/

Now THIS is the kind of Candidate that the Republican Party needs to QUIT marginalizing and THROWING UNDER THE BUS and start promoting for a change!!!

Mr STEELE: This is the FUTURE of your Party; please get a clue or your party - and our Country - may not have much of a future!

I'm not in a position right now to donate much money to a Candidate, but I might have to make an exception for WEST. (Unlike the solicitations I get from the National GOP which get summarily thrown away or returned with a "Nada Peso" note.)

Just rec'd this back from a Friend and fellow Veteran who has been a Conservative political activist and champion of 2nd A. gun rights in MD for many years and has some interesting insight as to the party Chairman, which explains a lot.

I didn't know that Steele was Lt. Gov. of MD - did you?

>" Hey Jaque, appealing to Steele is hopeless.
Before the election of the Erlich and Steele administration here in Maryland they were Gung Ho pro gun and gladly accepted our help.
After the election we were pushed off so briskly that before six months were up we knew we were had. We also then predicted they would be a one term Governor and Lieutenant Governor which they were.
During Erlich Steele administration more shooting ranges were closed then during several previous Democratic regimes.
Both of them were specialists at undermining their voting base.
Don't expect much from the R. N. C. with an @$$#0!3 like Steele involved."

This intel only confirms my suspicions that if "Tea-Party" Conservatives ever want to restore the GOP to it's original principles and make it politically viable again, then STEELE, along with no doubt a goodly number of his "moderate" (liberal) sycophant executive elite at National HQ, HAS TO GO!!!

Yay! A poster who gets it and understands the correct way. People who believe in conservative principles need to use the apparatus of the GOP to push forward a conservative agenda.

To all the tantrum throwers out there, just a few questions:

1. Did Ronald Reagan form a third party? Even after he lost the nomination to Gerald Ford?

2. And which party nominated Reagan as its candidate in 1980?

3. And who won the 1980 and 1984 elections?

4. And which third-party candidate won the presidency in 1980 and 1992?

Just wondering.
