From the last line of the article:

“If the objective of conservative media monitors is simply to open a space that forces liberals into a debate, this is a sign of success”.

When Tim Graham, director of the MRC, and Newsbusters view this event as a sign of success, I tend to be receptive to that point of view. True is not like a “Wapo admits the global warming is a hoax” headline but we skeptics have been so beleaguered for so long, we take our victories as they come.

I don’t think as optimistically that this is any kind of opening.

I view this WaPo exercise as a ruse to say the issue was vented and debated, case closed.

The message here is:

“Ok. let’s have a debate. The high priests have said such and such is such, that so-and-so is a crank and that use of your lawn mower as well as your barbecue has no ‘statistical significance’ to the greater purpose that they are structuring control of the world for, and for which you readers are too dimwitted and stee-upid to comprehend....therefore, the high priests swatted away these irritating gnats of insignificance justifiably so, although as objective WaPo journalists that we are, we would suggest that perhaps they should treat the offending gnats more lightly in the future”.

In the broader war strategy, these are minor skirmishes. MRC et al. cannot control the dialog in these press outlets. All they can hope for is that enough people read the internet news and at least see the commentary found at the end of many articles. The good news is that yes, more and more people are opting to read news from the internet and that fact must irk the Left.
