I have been wondering WHO knew what to ‘hack’/’leak’.

How do we know if it was " hacked " ?
How do we know if these emails were not shared among all of them and this man ( or who ever exposed this ) was part of the email list ?
If so ? then, there is nothing illegal at all being on the email list... the only thing would be a problem would be those other scientist objecting after the scam has been exposed...
