Insults against West Point by MSNBC pundit Chris Matthews are part of a pattern of left-wing denigrations against Americans serving in uniform. It's a motif indicative of an anti-military mind-set that is as dangerous as it is rude.
Discussing the West Point audience's response to President Obama's speech about Afghanistan, Mr. Matthews quipped on Tuesday: "I saw a lot of, if not resentment, skepticism. I didn't see a lot of warmth in that crowd out there that the president chose to address tonight. And I thought that was interesting: He went to maybe the enemy camp tonight to make his case. I mean that was where Paul Wolfowitz used to write speeches back in the old Bush days. That's where he went to rabble-rouse the 'we're going to democratize the world' campaign back in '02. So I think it was a strange venue."
So, when did our brave military cadets become "the enemy camp"? If Mr. Bush or Mr. Wolfowitz went to West Point to "rabble-rouse," does that make the cadets a rabble? And why would it ever be a "strange venue" for any president to go to the U.S. Military Academy to talk about a war?

Talk about taking one step forward and two steps back. Chris Matthews, on Wednesday's Hardball, opened the show by offering an apology to members of the military and their families for his infamous West Point is the "enemy camp," quote made during coverage of Obama's Afghanistan speech, ...., but immediately after that went to an interview with John Murtha, who himself got in trouble with servicemen and women for falsely accusing Marines of killing innocent civilians in Iraq.
Matthews opened the show by saying he received a "some very tough calls from parents of cadets and former cadets," for calling West Point an "enemy camp," and offered, "I deeply apologize." But after attempting to repair that bridge, he didn't do himself any favors by turning to Democratic Representative John Murtha to talk Afghanistan war policy. For the record Matthews followed Murtha with Republican Representative Mike Pence, but given the damage done with the "enemy camp" remark perhaps he should have had aired Murtha second, or even better, brought on a Democrat who isn't being sued by a Marine for falsely smearing him of slaughtering innocents.

Man oh man, you just can’t make this stuff up. Matthews must have some kind of brain disease because this Murtha thing has been going on for years.
I believe Murtha was on a Matthews show about the time he called the Haditha Marines cold blooded killers and they talked about it.
Matthews is definitely aware of Murtha’s slander and has him on anyway after he apologizes for his slander. Sheesh!
Chris Matthews slobbers when he talks. Who in their right mind could watch that? He turns my stomach. He is disgusting.
I hope Comcast goes into their buyout with the attitude they are going to straighten out NBC, MSNBC and etc. In other words, I hope they clean house and build a real news network.
If they don’t, they are going to lose a lot of money. People are tired of this crap.
Here’s a great link for historical source material on Murtha!

Dang, that is a good source, thanks.
Chrissy is easy to handle. Just mouth the words "Zell Miller", and watch the results thereof. He'll go into a fetal position, babbling even more incoherently, in abject terror, than normal...
