The elevation of Amsterdam Airport Schiphol (AMS) in the Netherlands is -11 feet (-3.4 meters) – the airport is officially below sea level. So what IS his point? The Dutch certainly know how to handle something like rising sea levels.

I submitted a post to them, saying Schwarzenegger doesn't know SF history. Treasure Island and much of SFIA is man-made from bay-fill. Perfectly flat a few feet above the water. If the waters rise, simply add more dredged material and raise the land level. The bay is continually dredged to keep the sea lanes open, so there is an abundance of fill material. I jog and walk at the bay's edge near SFIA. Environmentalists are spending millions on restoring some wetlands there. Should just let nature take care of reclaiming what was hers.
