No Syc, that is not what I get from this.
What I get is something that has been going on for a while but since 2004 It has gone critical mass. There is a faction in the political continuum working on the conservative side that has blissfully attacked the republican party for all sorts of reasons. This faction is often of two or even three mind sets but they have a common goal to purge the party and on a smaller scale this forum of any and all who disagree with them.
The problem with this, as in 2008 is that you lose elections. It happened when Bob Dole ran and the religious right stayed home, and it happened just a few months ago when these angry factions refused to vote for McCain. (I held my nose)
So here we are again and again launching attacks within the party to rid us of the so called RINO for the 2010 midterms. I guess you don't get the humor in this because it is not the RINO that is the problem. It's the voter! It has always been the voter.
Anyway, have a nice day. I have things to do and I'm going to log out for what may well be a extended period of time. I tried to fix this crap one time before from 2004-2008 and it was a huge waste of time. I failed and all my warnings came true. I wish I had been wrong.
I can't fix this and observers like myself are no longer posting here so I have no backup. I will leave all of you to stew in your own juices.
Just think before you act. Where do RINO's come from and how and why do they get elected.
When you figure it all out, send a shout my way and I might come back and cheer you on.........or not. Depends how I feel about it all.
See Ya.....Gotta go.
Nope. We lose elections when there are those that hang on to believing that you can pick up a t*rd by the clean end.
Exactly!!! There are those of us who have been writing, calling, and faxing the GOP leadership FOR YEARS!! What have we accomplished? Not much. However, pressuring THOSE WHO ACTUALLY VOTE on legislation, especially with the tide of voter’s wrath rising, could stand in the way of devastating legislation.
There are many paths to victory. You get to choose the path you take....at the moment.
Have a nice day.
By the time they’re done there will be a couple dozen of them staring at each other from the rubble pile.
Numbers make a difference. A deluge of letters works better than a trickle. What's more impressive at Tea Parties? Several thousand? Or hundreds of thousands?
Tard?
Can I use a “u” and not get banned? ;-)
Ayone who thinks dending thousands of letters to the GOP screaming “NO MORE RINOS” is actually going to result in fewer RINOS getting elected is delusional.
Worse, these kind of useless efforts sap energy and initiative that could be put to more effective use. People involved will dutifully send their letters, think they’ve done their duty and sit back and wait for the avalanche of “solidly conservative” candidates to get elected by the hands of the GOP leadership.
The GOP leadership doesn’t elect RONO’s, voters do.
RINOs
GOP picks them. Backs them. And shoves them down the voters throats.
Have a nice day!
GOP PICKS THE CANDIDATE FOR VOTERS! Voters deserve to NOT be deceived. I’ll vote 3rd party if the tea parties and grass roots efforts for change fail.
Are you an
You keep proving my point! Numbers is the ONLY way to get the attention of Democrat leaders. They have to be convincrd they will lose their next election. I’m so glad you get it.
These letters work if you stick to not giving them any money.
I have a friend who is a huge donor....he got a call from his State Party Chair.
Bob, do you deliberately NOT read the posts before you post? The whole point of this is THE MONEY. It’s the money they WON’T get if they don’t start supporting Conservative candidates instead of throwng them to the curb like they did Bachmann and Hoffman and Santorum to name a few.
A Hundred Thousand letters MINUS a $10 contribution is a MILLION DOLLARS they lose. Twenty Five thousand letters MINUS a $50 contribution is $1,250,000 they LOSE!
That is individual contributions. Do you think they will be laughing about it?
Do the math. Make it 5,000 letters minus a $100 contribution. And THAT is what gets their attention.
No. I don’t. You keep missing the point. Rinos lost the elections in 2006 and 2008 and you want to elect more. Dems with an “R” behind their name. How’s that working for us, eh?
I can do the math, so can the RNC.
I don’t have the time nor the inclination go into detail the reasons (not that they would be listened to anyway) why this effort, while well intentioned, has little chance of success. Suffice it to say, IMO, it is ill conceived and ill executed.
For an effort like this to be effective the leaders first need an understanding of how modern politics and political parties operate, which I don’t think you have.
Second, it has to be well defined with realistic strategies and empirical goals (which then can be translated to your intended targets), which you haven’t done.
Third, your threats have to be believed and in that case it means of a list of known donors who do so regularly in significant amounts which can be verified through donation records. You’re basing your effort from an internet website that has the reputation of being a bastion of anti-government, anti-GOP, 3rd party malcontents and rabble rousers, not reliable, reasonable, well heeled party supporters.
Your letters will be discarded into the round file. At best, their measly numbers may be included in the weekly summary of thousands of letters of correspondence the RNC receives and filed under the sub category “RINO Screamers”.
That should be a start for you.
People voted each one of them into office. Maybe a better use of your time would be to contact each voter and explain the RINO situation to them. Unlike Michael Steele, they will probably listen.
I won't do that again. I won't vote for a Rino again. Often, that's the only choice. The party endorses Rinos. Dede Scozzafava was picked because it was her "turn". Fools. This isn't a child's playground that politicians take their "turn". But you and the others keep trying to find the "clean end of that t*rd".
Good day to you.
“For an effort like this to be effective the leaders first need an understanding of how modern politics and political parties operate, which I dont think you have.”
You are certainly entitled to your “opinion,” but I find myself more than slightly surprised that you seem to know how I think, let alone WHAT I know, and beyond that WHO I know.
“Second, it has to be well defined with realistic strategies and empirical goals (which then can be translated to your intended targets), which you havent done.”
And you now claim to know my strategy, which you don’t. You claim there isn’t an endgame, which there is. And you also “think” there is not an intended target, which there is. You can’t start a fire without a spark. We are just starting.
“Third, your threats have to be believed and in that case it means of a list of known donors who do so regularly in significant amounts which can be verified through donation records.”
Hellooo??? Every single person on this board who receives a RNC membership card has donated something or they wouldn’t be on the RNC begging list. And at the risk of being redundant, you don’t know who I know. Furthermore, you don’t know who some of the other people on this board know, NOR do you know who might just show up because of this.
Either you are taking an awful lot for granted, or you are being contrarian for its own sake which isn’t very becoming of you.
“Youre basing your effort from an internet website that has the reputation of being a bastion of anti-government, anti-GOP, 3rd party malcontents and rabble rousers, not reliable, reasonable, well heeled party supporters.”
So!!! And where, I, in my so-called “ignorance” might ask, did THAT reputation come from, Bob?
And WHY, in my so-called “ignorance” might I ask, would you object if we improve that “reputation” to become a serious political force to be reckoned with?
See, I don’t understand why you seem to have it in for everything Jim Robinson is for. Don’t you want Free Republic to be more than YOU claim it is? And IF not, WHY not?
THAT is the question.
